Why is it a response of lawyers, when they hear about abusive, corrupt acts of government officials, to advise those harmed by the corrupt government officials to hire a lawyer?

Some things should be dealt with as a crime, not as a lawsuit. Or don’t lawyers care, especially if it generates fees they can collect from those harmed by the corruption.?

And do they really think that such lawsuits would accomplish much in a locality where corruption is widespread, even accepted as part of the culture? How many of the local judges could be trusted in such a situation?

I dont know the whole story nor do I fully understand how all this works. From what I have heard some judges or courts decided to rid of some laws or change them dealing with Proposition 22 then homosexual marriage was allowed. Then a bill was passed namely Proposition 8 which put into the Constitution that homosexual marriage is illegal. Now there have been lawsuits filed to the Supreme court to overrule this saying it is wrong or unconstitutional on the basis of personal rights. So if the Supreme court changed this wouldn’t they have to change the Constitution and not just make a law? And can they do this in opposition to the majority vote? Is that a free Republic? Please explain this to me and elaborate thanks.

Say another employee has a grudge and calls in a complaint (pretending to be a customer) against another employee of equal rank, but higher seniority and the company fires the employee with higher seniority. Will a lawsuit cover lost wages, or just return the job?
