I am sick of this argument from the religious zealots and all the other nutters out there.
But they have not given one example of how gay marriage will destroy society as a whole.
I always thought that divorce did a great job ar tearing families apart.
Just want to hear you thoughts on the matter.
Helen S. Well said. That is the real problem If only sterilization were an option.

Arranged marriages are definitely not illegal anywhere in the world, and the royal wedding is receiving so many praises. However, no politician or company would ever dare to openly accept gay marriage as even tolerable. Shouldn’t a gay marriage based on love be more acceptable than a marriage arranged for any other reason? Is marriage more about traditions and religion than it is about love?

How does the fact that many abolitionists and civil-rights leaders also used religion as a reason for the laws they wanted passed affect the answer to this question?
I suppose the question is whether religion is an unconstitutional basis for legislation.

If we’re supposed to abide by the constitution, then why is there even an argument about gay marriage? Isn’t that a debate for the churches? Whatever happened to separate of church and state?

Why hasn’t the Mormon Church work equally with a fevered pitch to curtail pockets of Polygamist in Utah, Colorado, Nevada, Texas and parts of New Mexico; if marriage is sacred?

Why can’t we just let everybody have the same rights?
I would rather see a gay couple happily married raising an adopted child than a broken family with an abusive father raising one. Do you really think that the straight, bad parents are more deserving of marriage and children than the gay family that loves each other and their child?
And please don’t bring religion into this. Everyone is free to practice whatever religion they please, and no one is at liberty to force their religion onto anybody else. This is a free country, ya know? And as George Washington said, “Every man, conducting himself as a good citizen, and being accountable to God alone for his religious opinions, ought to be protected in worshipping the Deity according to the dictates of his own conscience.”
Nobody is trying to force anyones lifestyle down their throat. Telling two people that you don’t know that they are not allowed to be married, how is that not forcing a lifestyle choice down their throat?

I’m sure there aren’t that many Mormons in California. The majority of Californians wonted it that’s why it passed.

Proposition banned same sex marriages. Marriage is defined as
the legal or religious ceremony that formalizes the decision of a man and woman to live as husband and wife, including the accompanying social festivities: to officiate at a marriage
Since marriage for centuries has been a religious institution and civil unions are endorsed by the government to provide two people of the same sex legal right. Shouldn’t the seperation of church and state be applied here?
The supreme court has ruled that their is a Seperation of Church and state. So that is what should be used here.

Since opposition of gay marriage comes from religious belief, why is it not allowed in every state? Isn’t there supposed to be a separation of church and state? If so, how is banning gay marriage constitutional?
Since when does marriage have to do with being natural? Are married couples forced to have kids? No, that point is invalid. So again i ask this question, because saying its not natural is irrelevant.
